During Men’s Health Week 2020 we celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of the WA Men’s Health and Wellbeing Policy (the Policy). The Policy was designed to provide direction to the WA health system and its partners to deliver strategies to improve the physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing of men and boys living in Western Australia.
The Policy was developed by the Health Networks Unit, WA Department of Health to demonstrate that the WA health system is committed towards achieving the priority areas of the National Male Health Policy: Building on the Strengths of Australian Males and the action areas of the National Men’s Health Strategy 2020-2030.
The benefits of prioritising and addressing men’s health and wellbeing will be far reaching not just for men, but also their partners, families, the community and the economy. The development of the Policy is the first step towards recognising this important issue and calling people to action in WA. We are proud to be continuing work with stakeholders to promote the Policy and its implementation.
