SUMMARY:Rural Emergency Advanced Clinical Training (REACT+) | Perth
DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies\, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training\, REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop. Participants are provided with audio-visual pre-learning materials and the course consists almost entirely of small group practical skills stations and simulated scenarios. \nEligibility: All medical practitioners are welcome to register\, with priority given to currently practising rural and remote medical practitioners. \nLength: Two days – 8.00am-5.00pm. \nCost: $2\,500 (incl GST)\nThe cost of this workshop is subsidised by WA Country Health Service  \nAccreditation: \n12.75 Educational Activity\, 11.83 Performance Review\, 1 Additional CPD Requirements hours. 6 Anaesthetics (Practice Evaluation) and 6 Emergency Medicine MOPS hours with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine for continuing professional development hours.\n16 Educational Activity and 9 Reviewing Performance hours with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for the 2023-2025 triennium.\n22.5 ACEM CPD hours \nThis workshop is eligible for the Rural Procedural Grants Program\, Anaesthetics and Emergency Medicine components. Please contact your college for eligibility prior to attending the course. \nThis education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service  \nPayment structure \nYou will receive an email link for payment in an event confirmation email. Payment is required within 10 days of receiving the email. If full payment is not received within 10 days\, your place will be offered to another delegate. \nCancellation policy \n\nApplicants who give notice of cancellation of four (4) weeks or more will receive a full refund of the workshop registration fee.\nApplicants who withdraw from the workshop on or 14 days prior will receive a 50% refund of the workshop registration fee.\nApplicants who fail to attend the workshop or who withdraw from the workshop less than 14 days of the workshop date are not eligible for a refund.

DESCRIPTION:The Children’s Asthma Hub provides a coordinated and centralised service with a paediatric asthma care team to facilitate a comprehensive assessment at each visit. We are currently the only service to offer a peadiatric-specific lung function service in the community.\n\nAll services are bulk-billed with no out of pocket expenses charged to the patient.\n\nDetails for the Bunbury Children’s Asthma Hub:\n November 27th – 28th\, 2023\n 8:30am – 4:30pm\n SJOG Specialist Centre – 114 Spencer Street\, Bunbury\n\nIn each appointment\, patients can expect:\n\n\nRespiratory health education with a Respiratory Health Nurse;\n\n\nLung function testing; and\n\n\nAnalysis by a respiratory specialist and prompt receipt of results.\n\n\nIf you have a patient aged 4-18 years residing in the South West region with suspected asthma or another respiratory condition\, you can make a referral via this link HERE.\n\nChildren’s Asthma Hub are also happy to see adults for lung function testing and education\, and our Adult Respiratory Specialist will review these. DESCRIPTION:Basics in ICU training \nThe next Basic in ICU course in Bunbury will be on 8 and 9 September 2023. The Basic ICU course is run across 50 different countries and covers ICU related topics in the form of didactic lectures and skill station over 2 days. \nThis course is recommended for all junior medical officers (RMO and registrars) pursuing a career in acute care medicine such as ICU\, ED\, Trauma\, Anaesthesia\, general medicine\, GP anaesthesia\, Retrieval medicine etc. The aim of the course is to provide basic skill and knowledge in the management of critically ill patients and has been made as a mandatory course for CICM trainees registered post 2014. \nThe topics covered in the course (exact itinerary will follow registration): \n\nairway management\nacute respiratory failure\nmechanical ventilation (basics\, common modes\, settings\, troubleshooting\, specific conditions)\nhaemodynamic monitoring\nmanagement of shock\nsevere sepsis\ninterpretation of arterial blood gases\ntransport of critically ill patients\nsevere trauma\nneurological emergencies\noliguria & acute renal failure\ncardiopulmonary resuscitation\narrhythmias\nnutrition\nsedation and analgesia\nvenous thromboembolic disease\nstress ulceration\ncardiovascular and respiratory physiology\nmetabolic & electrolyte disturbances\n\nCourse fee: $300 \nThis will include -:\n•    Registration to the course\n•    Access to Pre course material on BASIC app and a hard copy of the course material. \nSend your expression of interest to wachsswbhicubasic@health.wa.gov.au with your full name\, preferred email address and place of practise before 30/06/2023.
