SUMMARY:Breastfeeding Education Class
DESCRIPTION:Most babies breastfeed within an hour of being born. Breastfeeding is the natural and ideal way to feed your baby. However\, sometimes it doesn’t come as easily as we would have hoped. Join us before your baby arrives to empower yourself with knowledge and prepare to begin your breastfeeding relationship with confidence. Our Breastfeeding Education Classes are delivered in a relaxed environment by trained Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) counsellors/educators. You will receive up-to-date\, evidence based breastfeeding information as we explore what breastfeeding and parenting might look like for you and your family. \nWe highly recommend that you bring along your partner or support person to share the experience. Research has shown that strong support networks play a key role in achieving personal breastfeeding goals. \nClass will return to the South West in March 2020\, so this class is ideal for all families due before April/May 2020. \nSaturday\, 23 November 2019 from 13:00-17:00 (Last class for 2019) \nClass enquiries/bookings: Donna – 9757 3779 or aba.capes@gmail.com \n$90 per couple/mum-to-be and support person – includes 1 year membership to the Australian Breastfeeding Association (valued at $70). Only $20 if families are already an ABA member. These make a great baby shower gift.

There will be cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs and the annual Grape Stomp competition is always hotly contested. Kids activities include Bouncy Castle\, cup cake decorating\, train rides and face painting. An excellent day out in the beautiful setting of Karridale\, with its stunning backdrop of the Porongurup Ranges. \nFrom humble beginnings\, the first festival in 1989 consisted of one stall promoting the then newly vintaged wine of the region with under 150 people attending. The winery producers grew in number; accommodation businesses joined in to help the organisation as we changed venues each year. \nThe festival has grown over the years\, becoming a popular and iconic regional event\, attracting around 1800 people\, showcasing some of Porongurup’s award winning cool-climate wines\, as well as signature events such as the grape stomp\, wine masterclasses and cooking demonstrations adding to the celebrations. 2019 saw the addition of the local bar and distillery. \nContinuing to grow and develop\, a wide range of members\, community and volunteers have joined to host the festival.
