DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to help people who are working with those at risk of suicide in a professional capacity to: \n\nGain an understanding of the problem of suicide\nIdentify suicide risk\nProvide a framework for risk assessment and intervention\nDevelop appropriate intervention skills\nUnderstand the limits to confidentiality\nUnderstand the importance of consultation\nGain an understanding of self-harming behavior\nGain an understanding of the link between mental disorders and suicidal behaviors\nUnderstand the importance of postvention\n\nNote: Participants need to be aware that the workshop is intense and demanding. They are encouraged to consider the potential emotional impact (on themselves) before attending the workshop. \nAttendance at both days in entirity is essential. \nPlease DO NOT register unless you are a professional who is working with persons at risk. Please enquire if you are a non professional person interested in suicide intervention training on 97219256 as there are alternative workshops available. \nTea/Coffee and Morning tea provided.
