James was the Post Graduate Medical Council of WA, Clinical Educator of the year in 2017. He graduated at UWA and after internship spent 18 months working in the Kimberley region as a medical registrar. During this time he developed a love of outreach medicine, particularly the challenges of managing chronic medical diseases in remote locations. He returned to Perth to complete his physician training and subspecialty training in Cardiology. He has been involved in providing outreach cardiology services to the Ngaanyatjarra Health Service in Warburton and surrounding communities. His interest areas include rheumatic heart disease and ischaemic heart disease. His long term focus is to provide coordinated and holistic cardiology services to rural and remote Western Australia
