The Health Workforce Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health, administered in Western Australia by Rural Health West.  The Program provides scholarships and bursaries to help health professionals in remote and rural Australia retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice. Benzathine penicillin now available for the Doctors bag Benzathine benzlypenicillin (Bicillin L-A) is now on the Emergency Drug Supply Schedule (Prescribers Bag - view here).  This makes it much easier for GPs to treat patients with syphilis which is important in view of increasing syphilis rates across the whole of WA, especially in the remote regions.
