Balint information evening

Invitation to South West Balint information evening
‘A cuppa, collegiality and companionship’
Are you feeling professionally isolated? Would you like some support from colleagues in the same boat? Come and join a like-minded group of South-West GPs to learn what’s involved in a Balint Group, no strings attached.
Balint groups are named after the Hungarian Psychiatrist, Michael Balint, who worked with GPs in London in the 1950s. They are a forum for GPs to meet regularly and, through a facilitated discussion, explore the complexities of the doctor-patient relationship as well as other challenges that arise during our work.
You are warmly invited to an online discussion about Balint groups on Wednesday 16 November at 7.30 pm. This will provide an opportunity to learn about what’s involved in participating in a Balint group. We will hear from Judy Griffiths, a qualified Leader Trainer with the Balint Society of Australia and NZ, as well as GPs who have previously participated in Balint groups.
Following the meeting, we will be seeking expressions of interest from South West GPs to establish an online Balint Group.
We look forward to your company on the 16 November.
When: Wednesday 16 November, 7.30-8.30 pm
Where: Online via zoom (link will be provided closer to the date)
