Injury Matters online workshop – Through the Looking Glass: Engaging Multicultural Communities within Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion

This online workshop training aims to build the capacity of health and community professionals to increase understanding of the impact of key cultural aspects in culturally and linguistically diverse communities in WA to cater their programs and services which focus on injury prevention and safety promotion.

This online workshop training aims to:

• Increase awareness of the leading causes of injury within the multicultural community in WA.
• Increase knowledge of the barriers multicultural communities face in accessing appropriate services.
• Increase knowledge of the underlying cultural, social and psychosocial factors that influence injury within multicultural communities.
• Increase skills in applying culturally inclusive practices for accessible and appropriate health programs and service delivery for the WA multicultural community.

Who can attend?

This training is suitable for health professionals working in local government, not-for-profits/community sector, mental health, public health, and aged care that want to engage with diverse communities in their health programs.
